These are the same documents I share with new clients. Intake forms are completed in the secure client portal.
Starting therapy can feel like a lot. You do not need to have it figured out, to have a diagnosis, or to feel ready. You only need to show up as you are.
We will talk about what brought you in, what you are hoping for, and a bit about your history and what support you already have. I will explain how I work, and you can ask me anything. We will also decide together whether we are a good fit.
For couples: the first session covers my no-secrets policy, the limits of confidentiality, what each of you needs, and how EFCT is structured.
Sessions are every other week, depending on your needs. Based on what you are working on, we may use practical tools from CBT, work with the emotional cycle between partners through EFCT, or process trauma at a pace you can manage. You will leave with things to try between sessions, and a deeper understanding of what is underneath the patterns.
Honesty, as much as you can manage. It is fine to say you do not know, to change your mind, or to tell me something is not working. That is part of the work.
Back to topThank you for choosing Ivywood Therapy. This sheet explains how fees and scheduling work so there are no surprises. Please reach out with any questions.
Your first session is a regular paid session, billed at the fee for the length you book.
Ivywood Therapy is self-pay. I do not bill insurance.
You can pay in any of three ways:
Sessions are held by secure video. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 24 hours' notice through the client portal or by phone. Late cancellations and missed sessions are charged the full session fee. Invoices go out the same day and are billed as Professional Services.
Secure messaging in the client portal is best for scheduling and brief logistics. I reply within one business day. It is not monitored around the clock, so please call 988 or 911 in an emergency.
